What is SMP?
Scalp micropigmentation is a non-surgical procedure of inserting organic based plant deposits through the dermal layer of the scalp. These pigments along with a special needle replicate the look of hair follicles and blend in with client’s skin complexion.
Is SMP painful?
Pain tolerance depends on each individual. Each person’s pain tolerance will be different. Generally speaking most clients have compared the sensation to more of a minor irritation then abject pain. We never rush the treatment and encourage our guest to take breaks throughout each session.
Will SMP smudge or change color?
If Smp is done by a qualified practitioner and in a series of session there should be no smudging or blurring, however, any pigment applied to the scalp will eventually lighten over the years, even though the materials used maximizes the life of the pigments. We recommend wearing a sunscreen, since UVA and Uvb rays from the sun or tanning beds can break down the pigments if not protected.
How long does SMP last?
SMP last a lifetime with proper care, however, there are maintenance required such as touch ups to maintain the dark pigment color. Touch ups depend on client to client basis but on average we should touch base every 3 to 6 years to schedule a follow-up.

How long are is each session spread apart?
Here is the breakdown of a typical session A free consultation is done prior to treatment. Once client is satisfied with consultation, we schedule the first session, which is typically the longest you can expect 2-3 hours depending on the complexity and tolerance of the client and treatment.The second session is done a week later and typically takes about 2 hours. This session is used to ad density, perfect hairline and adjust color.The third session is done about 3-5 weeks after second session and this is where we see how your body reacted to the SMP. This is where we will soften the hairline and make any changes that you desire. This session normally takes 1 hour. Any additional sessions will be similar to the third.
Is SMP removable?
Yes, the Smp process can be removed with laser removal. The process consists of a laser using heat to break down the pigment and causing absorption by the pha gocytes in the upper dermis of the scalp. Since SPM is less intense than a traditional tattoo, in terms of depth application, electro-optic laser generally gets the job done. The process can take several sessions to remove and should be done by a qualified technician.
What is the aftercare procedure?
We will go over all aftercare instructions during the consultation. Generally you should avoid getting your head wet s and refrain from heavy sweating for 4-5 days.
